From strategy to implementation: Management workshop with myclimate strengthens Ebnat AG's sustainability goals

Ebnat AG pursues ambitious sustainability goals - particularly with a view to achieving net zero. The management team took part in a two-day workshop with myclimate in autumn 2024 in order to implement these goals in a strategically sound and practical manner. The focus was on the active integration of climate protection measures into day-to-day business.

Sustainability as a management task

The collaboration with myclimate is not new: Ebnat AG has already worked closely with the foundation on product analyses relating to the product carbon footprint. The workshop for specialists and managers was the next logical step in firmly anchoring sustainability in the company's management.

A central concern was to create a uniform understanding of climate protection and its operational relevance throughout the entire management team. At the same time, practical solutions were developed to not only address the topic strategically, but also to implement it in a concrete and measurable way.

From theory to action

The intensive work in the workshop had an impact: The management team developed a large number of realisable ideas and evaluated their potential for reducing company-wide CO₂ emissions. According to the participants, the exchange among themselves was particularly valuable - accompanied by external expertise and a practical framework.

The outdoor part of the programme was a highlight: In addition to interactive exercises, the programme also included visits to an organic potato farm and a local forest project. These inputs raised awareness of the real impact of climate protection and made the issues tangible.

Focus on Scope 3 and broad impact

As the emissions from Scope 1 and Scope 2 are already below 2 % thanks to measures such as wood heating, photovoltaic systems and energy efficiency, Scope 3 is now taking centre stage: The emissions generated along the supply chain and in the life cycle of the products (during use including disposal). Ebnat AG is focussing on cross-divisional cooperation here: Specialist departments develop targeted projects that are coordinated centrally and assigned clear responsibilities.

The workshop was an important step on the path from strategic goals to sustainability in practice - and shows that climate protection is part of corporate responsibility.
