Completion of new building

Following the commissioning of the new logistics platform and a new warehouse in the autumn of 2014, on 25/09/2015 Ebnat AG in Ebnat-Kappel completed the comprehensive structural extension of its premises with the inauguration of the new production building. The investment cost came to in excess of ten million Swiss francs.

Named after director

The new warehouse was named ‘Pius Thoma Hall’ in homage to Ebnat’s Executive Director from 1987 to 2014. This way Pius Thoma was honoured for his long-standing and very successful work. It was only his prosperous development of the company that facilitated such extensive investments.

Prepared for the future

Ebnat AG is now well-prepared for the future and has a significantly improved foundation to operate in both the Swiss and the global market. In his address the new CEO, Michele Vela, emphasised his faith in the Swiss production site, which is being manifested with this structural extension.

Michele Vela appeared extremely delighted that, following a growth of more than 50% over the last ten years, the company has now also been able to optimise its production and logistics processes.

Local added value

It was also very pleasing that most of the work for the buildings was contracted out within the region and therefore added value was achieved locally. During the subsequent inauguration evening, the warehouse was formally handed over for operation by the staff, the local tradespeople and authorities, as well as representatives of the board of directors.
