This year, Ebnat AG was once again represented at the Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt with a revolutionary innovation. The new Inspire product range presented its brushes with a high-tech 2-tier brush head.

Clear innovation strategy

Ebnat AG has successfully sustained its position in the international dental hygiene and household cleaning markets for a number of years. A key factor of success for this is the clear focus on customer benefit and innovations. For some time an innovation team has been responsible for finding new product options and production capabilities at Ebnat AG.

With the overvalued Swiss franc and strong competition from the Far East, Ebnat AG is working in a difficult environment. Nevertheless, its innovation strategy enables Ebnat to produce brushes in Switzerland at an attractive price/performance ratio. Ebnat AG wants to offer its consumers visible added value with its products; in doing so, Ebnat AG is very benefit-oriented. This is what customers expect of its innovations.

The new Inspire product range

One result of this innovation strategy can be seen for the first time at the Ambiente 2016 (one of the largest and most important trade fairs for decorative and household articles worldwide). The new Inspire product range (a play on words combining the terms ‘inspire’ and ‘spire’), maximises the benefit to the user. The two-tier brush head made of pointed and normal cylindrical filaments provides for a completely new sweeping experience. When exerting low pressure, the longer, pointed bristles come into their own, reaching virtually every crevice and joint. The slightly shorter, cylindrical bristles ensure efficient cleaning of stubborn dirt when increased pressure is applied. Therefore, the Inspire product range is soft and gentle, yet efficient. The polyester bristles are extremely hard-wearing and dimensionally stable. The set of bristles consistently recovers after use and returns to its original shape. For this reason Ebnat is able to grant a 6-year warranty for the entire product range. The brush head is suitable for both dry and wet use. Therefore, a product range consisting of floor brush, dustpan and brush set, scrubber, washing-up brush and toilet brush has been implemented. When used dry, the material has the same benefits as horsehair; in addition, it attracts and retains dust due to the static force of the polyester bristles. When the products are used wet, the user can benefit from the high water absorption capacity of the bristles. During the application, the water is distributed evenly. 

New packaging for new products

The new packaging design clearly highlights the benefits of the different brushes. Well-arranged pictographs and clear instructions for use ensure that the customer at the POS knows straight away what the product is capable of. Communication through packaging is very important for products that are often bought on impulse in stores.
